Engineering Manager - Chapter Lead

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a Chapter of approximately 15 Engineers. In our dynamic scale-up environment, we operate with a matrix structure. While your engineers collaborate daily within cross-functional Squads to deliver features, they report to you for their long-term growth, technical alignment, and career development.

Your primary mission is to ensure we scale our "human engine" while preserving the technical excellence that has brought us this far.


Your Missions 🚀

People Leadership & Coaching

  • Nurture Talent: Conduct impactful 1:1 meetings. Define clear growth trajectories and competency matrices to guide your engineers in their development, from Junior to Staff roles. You will own the review cycle for your chapter.

Technical Stewardship

  • Lead your chapter in establishing and upholding the Definition of Done (DoD), coding standards, and architectural best practices.
  • Break down silos between squads, ensuring that successes or lessons learned in one squad are shared and adopted across the entire chapter.
  • Partner with Tech Leads to identify and prioritize technical debt.

Scaling the Organization

  • Own the hiring pipeline for your discipline. You will source, interview, and champion our vision to attract top-tier talent, crucial for keeping pace with our scaling objectives.
  • Design and oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they feel welcomed and become productive as quickly as possible.
  • Collaborate with other Engineering Managers and Product Leads to optimize squad compositions and resource allocation as business priorities evolve.

📍 Location: This position can be based in Paris, Rennes, or fully remote. Professional travel, paid for by the company, may be required.
